A well-established, Houston-based wealth advisory firm is hiring a Wealth Planner to provide daily support to Senior Planners with data gathering, modeling, case design, scenario building, plan development, presentation preparation, and execution. This key member will participate in client meetings to take notes and strategize on complex planning scenarios and situations, not in an advice capacity. Key responsibilities include, conducting financial planning research and assisting in the preparation of customized comprehensive financial plans and portfolios for clients, taking notes during client meetings and handling client meeting follow-up; consistently communicating directly with clients, and working with other professionals, such as CPAs and attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of each client’s financial situation to help create and deliver suitable investment strategies
- Coordinate client service needs with internal and external team members and provide support to the overall client experience
- Stay abreast of significant changes or developments (e.g. taxation, regulatory, legal, competitive, and technical) within the fields of financial planning and investments
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of compliance, regulatory and departmental policies and procedures
- Perform ongoing financial planning analysis to include cash flow, retirement & estate planning, and tax optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Economics or Financial Planning
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within financial planning
- An appreciation for Entrepreneurs
- CFP® Designation preferred
- In-depth knowledge of key financial planning concepts
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, and exceptional follow through
- Outstanding communication and relationship building skills
- Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player
- The ability to think clearly, communicate succinctly, and write well
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office
- Fundamental knowledge and hands on experience working with financial planning software
