Growing Independent Investment Adviser based in Greater DC Metro Area is adding a Portfolio Manager to support their ongoing growth. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for an internal career path who enjoys investment management and operations. This is a new, broad based position that requires demonstrable skills in Portfolio Administration, Investment Management, as well as Client Service and Business Operations. The goal of the position is essentially to learn all of the responsibilities in supporting the firm grow affecting the full range of our investment work – including record keeping and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Administration
- Establish and maintain New/Existing/Transfer records and accounts in firm reporting systems.
- Review, Report and Manage on firm’s Custodian and Broker records to assure an accurate basis for client portfolio review, management and trading.
Client Service
- Participate in client meetings.
- Lead team in preparing Quarterly Client reports.
- Manage creation and preparation of Client Investment Reviews as scheduled.
- Assure AUM growth, liquidity and account responsibilities balance disbursement and long-term needs.
Investment and Operations
- Participate as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee commensurate with experience with setting investment strategy, tactics, portfolio construction and research.
- Assist with development and oversight of client asset allocation, security selection and reporting consistent with client Investment Plans.
- Assume primary support for assuring timeliness, integrity and accuracy third party posting to firm’s client data records.
- Assist with maintenance and operation of Security and Client analytics and Trading Systems.
Reporting & Communication
- Assist in formulation, preparation and writing of client quarterly communications.
- Maintain firm’s GIPS compliant Performance Composite working with outside consultants – including internal and external data collection and collating as needed.
- Create, maintain and track materials posted to firm’s website.
- Track materials prepared and distributed to prospects and clients focusing on brochures, contracts and account paperwork and setup.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field
- A minimum of 7 years of investment experience
- CFA designation or equivalent, investment-focused designation is essential
