One of Houston's leading advertising and marketing technology platform that collectively delivers marketing solutions is looking for a skilled Compensation & Benefits Manager to join their growing team. As the Manager of Compensation & Benefits, you will report to and work alongside the VP of People & Culture to ensure all compensation and benefits initiatives meet the Company’s overall strategy. You will plan, develop, and implement new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices while maintaining compliance with internal policies and government regulations. This includes payroll preparation, benefits administration, open enrollment, etc.
Responsibilities
- Work with VP, People & Culture to assess and make recommendations for annual raises, promotions, and equity awards in alignment with the company’s omnibus Incentive Plan.
- Design compensation packages and bonus programs that align with the company’s strategic plan.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees.
- Design creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
- Structure compensation in ways that will yield the highest value for the organization.
- Keep track of prevailing pay rates and make sure we offer competitive compensation plans.
- Track compensation and benefits benchmarking data.
- Administer US benefits programs, including support of annual open enrollment, adding and removing employees and dependents from plans, and answering benefit questions.
- Assist employees and managers with understanding of policies and processes as it relates to compensation and benefits.
- Administer leave of absence programs as required.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment tax laws for multi-state company.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, changes in employment law, and new technologies that support the HR discipline.
- Propose and implement opportunities to improve and simplify processes, tools and execution of HR services.
- Oversee retirement programs for various levels of employees; this may include profit sharing, 401(k), and nonqualified executive deferral plans.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, human resources management, or another related field is preferred.
- 4+ years of experience working as part of a corporate HR team with particular emphasis on Compensation and Benefits.
- Experience working for a start-up or early-stage company in digital media, marketing, advertising, technology, or another related industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of building compensation packages and bonus programs for various departments and seniority levels.
- Understanding of complex tax and benefits laws and regulations related to retirement planning and benefits.
- Proficiency with HRIS tools including ADP Workforce Now, SmartCompliance.
- Advanced Excel skills along with experience using PowerPoint, Word, Teams Meetings and Webinars, and the ability to learn new software tools quickly.
